The KADA EduPACT International Summit 2025 in Kaduna was a gathering of visionaries determined to reshape Nigeria’s education system. Among the inspiring speakers was Mustapha Ringim, founder and CEO of Engausa Global Tech Hub and Engausa Skills Development Foundation.
In a powerful session moderated by Khalifa Usman Mustafa, Engr. Mustapha Habu Ringim addressed one of Nigeria’s greatest challenges the high rate of unemployed and unemployable youth. Quoting the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics, he reminded the audience that 53.4% of young Nigerians are out of work, not just because of a lack of jobs, but because many are unprepared for the demands of today’s market.
Mustapha Ringim emphasized that the root of the problem lies in an education system overly focused on theory, leaving students without practical skills. “We are producing certificate holders, not problem solvers,” he declared. He urged institutions to adopt practical, competency-based education that integrates the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains to produce well-rounded, market-ready graduates.
One of the most inspiring moments of the summit was when Mustapha Ringim shared the story of his Engausa. Over a decade ago, he began picking young talents from the streets of Kano, including Almajiri children, and teaching them valuable digital and technical skills in their mother tongue. Today, many of them are employers of university graduates, proving that true success comes from opportunity and mentorship.
He emphasized the importance of language-inclusive education, breaking the barriers that often prevent youth from acquiring skills. “It’s not about how fluent you are in English; it’s about the skills you have to offer the market,” Mustapha Ringim reminded the audience.
In closing, Mustapha Ringim called on universities and polytechnics to partner with TVET centers and informal hubs like Engausa to give students hands-on skills. “Entrepreneurship isn’t just theory. You must have a skill before you can create a business,” he affirmed.
His inspiring message left the audience with one clear truth: the future belongs to the skilled, the innovative, and the bold.
